Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it has deployed 1,800 personnel in Bauchi to ensure hitch free Christmas and new year celebrations.
Bauchi State Commandant of the Corps, Haliru Usman disclosed made this known on Tuesday while addressing newsmen on the preparation of the corps for the celebration in the state.
He said the deployment took immediate effect and covered all the worship and recreational centres in the state. “In its effort to ensure a hitch free Christmas and new year celebrations in the state, NSCDC, Bauchi State Command deployed 1,800 of its personnel to ensure protection of lives, properties critical assets and infrastructures of federal, state and local governments.
“The deployment takes immediate effect and covers all the worship and recreational centres where most of the activities of this Christmas is going to take place to ensure that peace reigns in the entire state,” he said.
The Commandant assured that, with the collaborative effort between NSCDC and other sister security agencies in the state, a peaceful celebration is adequately guaranteed.
He also unveiled the launching of seven brand new powered motorcycles which he said would be used for patrolling during the yuletide period.
Usman called on the people of the state to go about their normal activities and report any suspicious movement to the nearest security outfit.
